We Started Small, Thinking Big
Because great events deserve food that people actually remember
Back in 2018, we were just three people with a slightly mad idea. What if event catering didn't have to be predictable? What if the food at your corporate gathering or festival could be something guests talked about weeks later?
We'd all worked in different corners of the food world — one of us ran a café in Manchester, another did private chef gigs, and the third had spent years managing festival kitchens. The common thread? We kept seeing the same tired menus, the same safe choices. And honestly, we got a bit fed up with it.
So we started Braveon. Not as some grand revolution, but as a way to bring a bit more creativity and care to event meals. We wanted to work with clients who valued that approach — people planning weddings, corporate events, festivals, and gatherings who wanted their food to feel like part of the experience, not just an afterthought.
How We Actually Work
Planning That Listens
We don't show up with a fixed menu and expect you to pick from it. Instead, we start with questions. What's the event about? Who's coming? Are there dietary needs we should know about? What's the vibe you're going for?
From there, we build something tailored. Sometimes it's a three-course sit-down. Other times it's street food stations or a grazing spread that lets people mingle. We've done formal dinners for 50 and festival feeds for 800. Each one looks different because each client has different needs.
And yes, we handle the logistics — kitchen setup, serving staff, clean-up. You shouldn't have to worry about whether the food's ready on time.
Menus With Personality
We're not trying to reinvent cooking. But we do like playing with ideas — taking familiar dishes and tweaking them, or bringing in flavors that surprise people in a good way.
For a tech company's summer party last year, we did a Mediterranean-inspired spread with harissa grilled chicken, za'atar roasted vegetables, and whipped feta. Simple ingredients, but arranged in a way that felt fresh. People went back for seconds.
Another client wanted comfort food for their winter fundraiser. We did short rib sliders, truffle mac and cheese, and sticky toffee pudding. Nothing fancy, just done really well.
What Guides Us
Flexibility
Plans change. Guest counts shift. Weather doesn't cooperate. We adapt. Part of what we do is problem-solving on the fly so you don't have to.
Quality Ingredients
We source locally when we can, work with suppliers we trust, and don't cut corners. You'll taste the difference, and so will your guests.
Clear Communication
No industry jargon. No surprise fees. We tell you what's possible, what it'll cost, and what to expect. Straightforward from start to finish.
Dietary Inclusivity
Vegan, gluten-free, allergies — we handle it all. Everyone at your event should have something delicious to eat, no exceptions.
On-Time Delivery
Hot food arrives hot. Cold food stays cold. Service runs smoothly. Timing matters, especially when you've got 200 people waiting.
Genuine Care
This sounds soft, but it matters. We care about your event going well. That means showing up prepared, staying professional, and making sure the food is something you're proud to serve.
Where We're Headed
We're still growing. Since 2018, we've worked with dozens of clients across the Midlands and beyond — weddings in Derbyshire, festivals in Yorkshire, corporate events in Birmingham. Each one teaches us something new.
Our aim is simple: keep doing work we're proud of, with people who value what we bring. If that sounds like your kind of approach, we'd be happy to chat about your next event.
